To ALL Assign by Web users on both Octavio's SCC
site and Steve Alexander's SLBOA site. Both Steve and I have the newer
versions of the Assign By Web program. Our sites are dot net sites as
opposed to dot com sites.
If you have registered on either my site or
Steve's site you will NOT need a NEW registration. Very simply log-in with
your User Name and Password you received from either of us and when you
log-in the Assign By system will link you up with either my site or Steve's
site (wherever you registered first).
For NEXT year (2008-09) all the other assignors
who currenty use the Assign by Web program will be on the same system. You
will receive updates from them when that takes place.
FOOTBALL comment - if you are currenty
registered on either my site or Steve's site and you are a Football official
as well, you can use your basketball user name and password to LOG-ON.
Note that you still need to "register" on the Football site as well. When
you go to log on, simply click on the box where it asks you if you are
currently registered on another site - use this as your log in as I still
have to "approve" your registration in order to link the Joe Official in the
Basketball database with the Joe Official for Football. If you officiate
other sports that also use the Assign by Web program and they are dot net
sites, you can use your User Name and Password as well to register for
Football.
To ALL Officials
By now some of you are aware that I will be using
the Assign By Web program. Most important piece of information for now -
please continue to keep your QB updated until ALL assignors have access to the
universal calendar and QB is used for pre-season availability.
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
Please note the following - if I have previously assigned you games DATES
using Quickbase, when you register on my site, PLEASE leave the DATE that I
assigned you OPEN. If you do NOT do this, then I will be UNABLE to process
your game ASSIGNMENTS.
Another important feature - if you have PREVIOUSLY
registered on AssignByWeb.com with either Jay Lyons, Charlie Schaerfer or
Chuck McNellis, if you are working in the Suburban Catholic Conference you
MUST register with me since my website address is an
https://scc.assignby.net site and those other sites are dot.com sites (you
will be able to tell the difference just by viewing since the home page
graphics are a bit different).
Once ALL assignors have a dot.net site than all
will be required will be MAINTAINING one calendar. You will still have to
REGISTER with each site in order for Assign by Web to link your name
to various calendars.
When registering in the box titled User Type, this drop down will denote Official. It is NOT a box that denotes your occupation. Also note that this is a MANDATORY field so please select the Official designation.
CONTRACTS
You will receive your contract through the ABW
program once you complete your registration! If you have been a previous user
of the programs, it should not be too different.
SELF ASSIGN
Once I get all the games imported I will release
the self-assign games on the site.
Continue to monitor both the ABW site and my
www.ohassignments.com for information.
AFTER your registration, the system sends me a
note and BEFORE you can receive your Password and User Name logon, I MUST
approve the registration.
It does NOT happen automatically!
Since I am NOT always in front of the computer
there may be some considerable lag-time B4 I approve you. Please do not
assume you did something wrong AND register twice. That only makes it more
difficult. If in case you registered multiple times I will ONLY approve the
most recent. Please do NOT create more work for the Assignor and yourselves
by registering twice.
FAQ’s for Assign by Web Use
- I am currently on one (1) Assign by Web dot com program and my Assignor is updating to the new dot net site. Can I use my old User name and Password? No – The Assign by Web company (via your Assignor) will be issuing you an updated User Name with a NEW password (which you can change after you log-in)
- What if I work another sport and that Assignor already has a dot net site- do I have to use the new User Name and Password sent to me when the conversion takes place? No – you can then use your EXISTING User name and Password from the dot net site (remember these User Names and Passwords are NOT sport specific – they are Official specific) in lieu of the one sent to you – you will just need to tell your Assignor of the new dot net site what User Name & Password you will use.
- Can I just log on to the new site via the Home page? No – the system does NOT automatically “register” you - you need to 1st register on the new dot net site by clicking on the User Registration link – you will be redirected to another page that will say OR, if you are already registered on any of ASW sites, enter your login/password to register on this site – type your User Name and Password from your other dot net site and click on the Find Account button.
- Can I use this User name and password for any other assignor in ANY other sport that I work so I can manage AND update just one calendar? Yes – that is the advantage of the Assign by Web dot net site (versus the old dot com sites). You can manage ALL of your sports with one calendar. You may of course get some overlap as ALL of your Assignments will be visible from other assignors as they release their other sports, be they Self Assign lower level football games, or your baseball or softball schedules.
- What if I want to have a User name for each sport I work but use the same Password – can I do this? Yes you can, after you “register” you can change your password to whatever you want – remember though that if you do this it will ultimately be YOUR responsibility to keep track of the various user names you use AND to make sure your calendar is UPDATED and ACCURATE for each sport!
- What if I want to limit my Availability calendar (like in Basketball) to specific Assignors? Again the system does NOT automatically link you to each assignor that has a dot net site. YOU still have to register for your sport specific Assignor in order for them to view your OPEN date calendar.
- How will I know if the Assignors in other sports that I work for will be updating their Assign by Web dot com sites to the newer dot net sites? The sites are renewed on a yearly basis – simply ask your assignor if he will be updating to the new dot net sites when he renews his contract with Assign by Web or if he will keep the OLD dot com site.
